Rob Lowe Sticks Up For Celebrity Rights
In Suit Against Nanny
Eriq Gardner April 08, 2008
The fact that Boyce's alleged defamation hasn't appeared anywhere in the media yet makes this a pretty strange case. And it's also somewhat customary in these situations for the celebrity to sue the media organization prepared to tortiously interfere with a contract. Which leads us to wonder whether this lawsuit, and the grand opening, might merely be intended to scare off Boyce. We'll see if this suit goes any further.

Stanton “Larry” Stein, representing Rob Lowe, told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira on Friday, April 11, 2008 in New York.Lowe subsequently went into rehab for alcohol and sex addiction and claims 18 years of sobriety.
This lawsuit, amounts to a pre-emptive strike that has one goal. “They will recognize that we will not give in to their threats and they will go away.”

USLaw.com's legal analyst thinks Rob Lowe's nanny is lying.
The News Press isn't reporting both sides because owner Wendy McCaw is Lowe's friend. He started the SBNP debacle currently firing up the town. See "Citizen McCaw," a local movie made on the story, or Vanity Fair on the Santa Barbara News press for the scoop. I have no idea if the nanny is lying but these people (Lowe's) are not well liked by locals because many feel they brought down the local paper.
